DirecTV adds more local HD channels

DirecTV has added local HD channels in Toledo, OH, Syracuse, NY, and Richmond-Petersburg, VA. The additions bring the total number of cities with local HD programming from DirecTV to 91. DirecTV local HD coverage now represents 81 percent of U.S. households.

In Toledo, Ohio, the following local broadcast networks are now available in HD: WTVG/ABC, WTOL/CBS, WUPW/FOX and WNWO/NBC.

In Syracuse, NY, these local broadcast networks are now available in HD: WSYR/ABC, WTVH/CBS, WSYT/FOX, WSTM/NBC and WNYS/MNT.

And, in the Richmond-Petersburg, VA area, the following broadcast networks are available in HD: WRIC/ABC, WTVR/CBS, WRLH/FOX, and WWBT/NBC.

To receive DIRECTV’s local HD programming, customers must have an H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus(R) HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish.
