DirecTV opens up more local HD markets

Satcaster DirecTV has added local HD channels to several markets. Those markets include: Savannah, GA, Charleston, S.C., Norfolk-Newport News, VA, and  Springfield-Holyoke, MA. The company now offers local HD in 98 U.S. cities, representing 83-percent of households.

In Savannah, Georgia, DirectV has added the following broadcast networks in HD: WJCL/ABC, WSAV/NBC and WTOC/CBS. In Charleston, South Carolina, they have added local HD channels for WCIV/ABC, WCBD/NBC, WCSC/CBS, WTAT/FOX and WMMP/MNT.

In Norfolk-Newport News, Virginia, DirecTV has added the following broadcast networks in HD: WVEC/ABC, WAVY/NBC, WTKR/CBS and WVBT/FOX. And finally in  Springfield-Holyoke, Massachusetts, WGGB/ABC, WWLP/NBC and WSHM/CBS have been added as local HD networks.
