Acer desktop with Blu-ray for $679

by Mike Allen on October 13, 2008

Acer announced the new Phenom X3200 desktop that comes with AMD Phenom processing, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, Dolby Home Theater and a Blu-ray Disc/DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive. The Acer Aspire X3200 PC is available now and retails for $679.99.

This is a more compact tower at 10.4-inches high. The X3200 has nine USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, eSATA port and a Multi-in-One card reader. The card readers and audio ports are located at the front of the tower for easy access.

The X3200 comes with 4096MB DDR2 Memory and a 640GB SATA II hard drive. That should be enough room to build a decent library of music and movie files, although if you are storing hi-def movies that space will run out quick.

The integrated Blu-ray Disc drive, HMDI output, and Dolby Home Theatre audio capabilities will give you the full HD movie experience from your PC.
