TMC to broadcast Outdoor Channel HD in NY & NJ

by Jeffrey Nukom on September 29, 2009

Now Time Warner Cable subscribers in the New York City, Mount Vernon (New York) and New Jersey areas can watch outdoor sports in high-definition (HD), as the Outdoor Channel HD announced their carriage in those areas.

The announcement expands an existing agreement between the cable provider and Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc., which includes over 150 markets. The Outdoor Channel is available in both standard and high-definition resolution.

“Outdoor Channel is currently the only full-time outdoor network with a robust HD offering, and this launch in the number 1 media market is evidence that our investment is paying off,” said Tom Hornish, COO for Outdoor Channel.

Nielsen Media Research estimates that Outdoor Channel has approximately 31.2 million cable and satellite subscribers as of September 2009.
