Verizon has expanded its FiOS service to 25,000 additional residencies in Baltimore County, Maryland, offering over 500 digital channels in the state and a lineup of 132 HD channels.

New coverage areas in Baltimore County include Arbutus, Catonsville, Dundalk, Edgewood, Hunt Valley, North Point and Woodlawn.

The Verizon fiber-optic service includes television, voice and high-speed internet under the “FiOS” brand.

“Our advanced 100 percent fiber-optic network was built for HD, and right out of the box we’re making more HD channels available than Comcast has provided after decades in the business,” said William R. Roberts, Verizon’s president for Maryland and Washington, D.C.

In Baltimore County, FiOS is also available in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Charles, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, including Aberdeen, Annapolis, Bel Air, LaPlata and Rockville.
