More On-Demand HD available from FiOS

by Jeff Chabot on October 23, 2009

verizon-fios_rev_330x186Verizon’s FiOS TV has substantially added to its VOD count, reaching 18,000 titles per month including 2,400 in HD. Fueling the competition, the company says it has doubled the amount of titles competing cable companies offer.

FiOS recently expanded its high-definition on-demand library by 70-percent over recent months, by adding approximately 1,000 new titles. Last month, they also added more HD content from HBO, Cinemax, Starz and The Movie Channel.

Upcoming HD VOD content will come from IFC, WE TV, AMC, and Halogen, a new network targeting socially conscious individuals. Oh, if only there were hours in the day.

BBC America will also soon be available, although it’s not clear whether the on-demand content will be available in HD.

In the standard-def VOD library, FiOS also added programming from Mav TV — a network focused on men’s entertainment ranging from wrestling to gaming.
