Verizon boasts most TV markets in New Jersey

by Jeff Chabot on December 8, 2009

verizon-fios_rev_330x186Verizon has marked the third year anniversary of launching FiOS TV in New Jersey by adding three more municipalities. The company says it is now the largest television provider in the state in terms of locations served, providing service to 348 municipalities. The added areas include New Brunswick (Middlesex County), Hamilton Township (Atlantic County), and Middle Township (Cape May County).

“The cable industry fought hard to keep choice and competition from our New Jersey customers. Despite their efforts, hundreds of thousands of our customers have gladly welcomed FiOS into their homes and have said goodnight to their disco-era cable TV company,” said Dennis Bone, president of Verizon New Jersey.

First launched in New Jersey in Dec. 2006, Verizon’s FiOS TV is now available to 1.9 million residencies in 19 counties. The company is currently offering gift-card incentives to sign up for their triple-play service, combining television, internet and voice services.
