Dish Network subscribers lose AMC channels

We were hearing threats of Dish dropping AMC channels, but never thought it would actually happen. But it has. Dish Network has dropped the AMC channel lineup, including AMC (which means no more Mad Men for Dish subscribers), WE TV, and IFC Films. The channels were pulled yesterday after the distribution agreement ended Saturday, June 30. Dish says the network is asking “outrageous” carriage fees. AMC says Dish isn’t willing to negotiate because of their ongoing lawsuit between Voom and Echostar (now Dish). For now, Dish subscribers will have to watch old episodes of Mad Men, The walking Dead, and Breaking Bad on Netflix or other digital providers.
