Cablevision adds Univision and Telefutura in HD

Univision HD and Telefutura HD channel have been added to Cablevision’s free iO TV high-definition lineup today. According to the company, the Spanish-language channels have been added to all markets, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and parts of Pennsylvania. Full Story

Gearing up for the
The first high-definition 3D television broadcast in the US will not come from Comcast or DirecTV but from Cablevision, who will premiere the format Mar. 24 with coverage of the Islanders vs. Rangers NHL game at Madison Square Garden. 3ality Digital will provide the 3D capturing equipment for the event, which will show on Cablevision’s channel 1300.
After an ongoing dispute between Disney (ABC’s parent company) and cable TV provider Cablevision failed to be resolved, the network was pulled at midnight on Saturday, Dec. 6. The dispute wasn’t settled until Sunday night at 8:43 p.m, almost fifteen minutes after the Academy Awards had already started. Until then, 3.1 million Cablevision subscribers were unable to get ABC.
Cablevision subscribers in the New York Tri-State region will be happy to hear Food Network and HGTV are back online, as the cable provider and Scripps Networks Interactive came to a financial agreement today.
Cablevision has announced it will add the Tennis Channel to its iO Sports Pak service. The channel will be available in both standard and high-definition as soon as the broadcast signal is provided to Cablevision.
