Cox to add College Sports HD in Hampton Roads, VA

On Aug. 25th, Cox Communications will add College Sports HD to its high-definition lineup in Hampton Roads, VA. The HD network will be found on Cox channel 816, and will also be available in standard-definition on channel 216. Full Story

Epix launching online HD viewing

Epix is launching widespread online viewing of content for Cox and Mediacom customers on EpixHD.com. The service provides Epix subscribers with a full lineup of movies via the website, including over 150 HD and SD movies per month. In July, the company plans on launching the service for Charter Communications subscribers. Full Story

Cox Virginia broadcasting the Masters in 3D

Cox customers in Virginia’s Hampton Roads, Roanoke and Northern Virginia areas will be able to view the Masters Tournament in 3D this week. 3D coverage of the tournament, which takes place at Augusta National Golf Club, will start on Wednesday, April 7 from 3 to 5 pm Eastern with the Par3 Contest. The 3D broadcasts will continue for two hours each day through Sunday, April 11. Masters programming (non 3D) is also available On Demand Channel 1. Full Story

Cox adds new HD channels in Virginia

Cox has added some new HD channels in its Virginia markets today, including the launch of Epix HD and Vutopia across all markets. In addition to those two channels Cox launched two new HD channels in Roanoke and Hampton Roads and three new HD channels in Northern Virginia. Full Story

Cox gets in on the 3D action

Cox Communications says they will offer customers with a 3D HDTV and HD receiver 3D coverage of the Masters Tournament next week from Augusta National Golf Club. The 3D high-definition programming starts with the Par 3 Contest onĀ April 7 at 3 p.m. ET and is offered at no additional charge. Full Story

Cox to launch Epix HD, Vutopia

Cox to provide all Olympic coverage in HD

Cox says it is also providing the content online and On Demand, at no additional cost to subscribers. For online distribution, the Cox/NBC Universal agreement includes 1,000+ hours of digital content which will be available to customers with at least Expanded Basic service. Full Story

Epix HD closer to distribution deals, including Cox and Dish
