Cox Communications will launch four new high-definition (HD) channels in the area in time for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Phoenix Business Journal reports. The channels to launch include USA HD, CNBC HD+ and NBC Olympic Soccer Channel HD along with Lifetime HD on July 21. Full Story »
Crown Media announced a contractual agreement with Cox Communications to carry the Hallmark Movie Channel in high-definition. The multi-year deal (length of contract not specified) will allow Cox to distribute Hallmark Movie Channel HD to its subscribers. Full Story »

Cox Communications announced yesterday additions to its high definition (HD) lineup. The company is adding seven new channels to both the Valley and Southern Arizona areas. Cox also noted the Discovery HD Theater will move to channel 714.
The Weather Channel is well on its way to the launch of its first HD studio programs, Your Weather Today and Evening Edition, on June 2, 2008. By early May, sets will be in place for the start of rehearsals from a four- story-high HD studio.
Cox Communications Northern Virginia announced today the launch of NFL Network HD. The network is now available on Cox Cable channel 718 on the Digital Sports & Info Tier for Fairfax County and Fredericksburg area. NFL Network offers more high definition programming this season, including Super Bowl Week, AFC and NFC Championship Week, and the NFL Draft, all in stunning high-definition.
The following eight primetime regular season games will be featured on NFL Network HD:

– Packers at Cowboys Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 at 8:15 PM ET

– Cowboys at Panthers Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at 8:15 PM ET
