RCN chooses BigBand router to deliver services

Digital transition to give RCN customers 75 HD channels

RCN Corporation announced it is converting all their broadcasts in the Washington D.C. area to digital, freeing up all the bandwidth analog has been using to allow for additional Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) channels. The transition will allow up to ten SD channels or three HD channels per analog channel. RCN’s new HD lineup will consist of 75 HD channels. Full Story

RCN reclaims analog channels, makes way for more HD

RCN Corporation announced it will go all digital in New York City next month, making way for all-digital programming. The cable TV provider says the switch will improve picture quality and dramatically increase the number standard and high definition (HD) channels it can offer customers. Full Story

RCN adds 10 HD channels in NY

RCN, a fiber-optic television provider, announced it would be adding 10 new high-definition (HD) channels in the New York City area. The 10 new HD channels include Discovery Channel HD, Animal Planet HD, The Learning Channel HD, HGTV HD, The Science Channel HD, Lifetime Movie Networks HD, Food Network HD, Travel Channel HD, VERSUS/Golf HD and NFL Networks HD. RCN added 7 HD channels in PA

rcnRCN customers in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, will be happy to know the television service provider added seven new high-definition (HD) channels to its channel listings this week. The additional channels include: Discovery Channel HD, Animal Planet HD, The Learning Channel HD, The Science Channel HD, Lifetime Movie Network HD, Food Network HD and Travel Channel HD. Full Story
