New Sony HD camcorders coming soon

Sony announced a couple new HD camcorders you’ll see on the shelves in September. The HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V capture 1920×1080 high-definition video, as well as 12-megapixel photos. Panasonic has announced two of the world’s lightest HD camcorders. Weighing in at only a half-a-pound, the Panasonic HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 both produce 1920×1080 video and come with image enhancing features like O.I.S. Pure Digital announced the availability of its newest line of Flip Video cameras, the Flip Ultra and Flip UltraHD models. The HD model records at 1280 x 720 video resolution, and outputs widescreen format via HDMI interface. Sony provides HD equipment for Dallas Cowboys

Sony was named the “Official HD Television” of the Dallas Cowboys and will provide over 3,000 LCD displays for the team’s new stadium, as well as HD cameras and production equipment. Panasonic gets 2010 Olympics gig

Panasonic’s DVCPRO HD camcorders and P2 HD storage format media will be used to capture the 2010 Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver, Canada. The Olympic Broadcasting Services Vancouver (OBSV), who will host the broadcasts, will be using the Panasonic equipment to capture and distribute the Winter Olympics footage. Full Story

New Hitachi Hybrid HD camcorder allows three high-def recording modes

Hitachi Home Electronics has announced a new HD hybrid camcorder (DZ-BD10HA) that functions in three formats and improves upon Blu-ray Disc recording capabilities from last year’s DZ-BD7HA hybrid camcorder. The new DZ-BD10HA has also improved upon power consumption and noise in the 8cm BD/DVD drive.

The three format hybrid camcorder is able to record HD video onto Blu-ray Disc, hard drive, or SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. It allows recording up to 4 hours and 20 minutes of 1920×1080 resolution video, or 8 hours 40 minutes of 1440×1080 onto the built-in 30GB hard drive. Full Story

New Canon HD camcorders to look for

The VIXIA HF11 (Dual Flash Memory,) the VIXIA HG21 (120GB Hard Drive) and VIXIA HG20 (60GB Hard Drive) add expanded high definition capacity at 1920×1080 resolution. New JVC HD Everio camcorders
