Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to go hi-def in 2010

The shows have been upscaled to HD since Comedy Central HD went live last January and joins shows already in HD including “South Park,” “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “RENO 911!” and “COMEDY CENTRAL Presents.” Full Story

Cablevision adds Comedy Central HD

Cablevision announced the addition of Comedy Central HD today to their lineup. The company now offers 69 HD channels at no additional charge with their iO TV service. As well as the 69 high-definition channels, the company offers HD VOD titles at $4.95. That’s a dollar cheaper than most competitors. Full Story

ComedyNet looks to go full HD

ComedyNet announced it is in discussions about launching a full-time HD channel. The young company based in New York City expects to be in over 25 million homes by the end of 2008, and to offer their already 300 hours of programming in high-definition. Full Story

Indie rock band goes HD

hdnetHDNet will premiere a new comedy series about a fictional indie rock band called “The All-For-Nots”. Michael Eisner is one of the producers of this series, which will be aired in high definition this coming Sunday, March 9, at 7:45 p.m. ET.

“HDNet delivers the highest level of digital broadcast quality available,” said Eisner. “Broadcasting outstanding story-driven content through the best possible technology available provides the audience with the ultimate viewing experience.”

Mark Cuban, president and co-founder of HDNet added “It’s a perfect fit for us…users will get the ultimate experience watching it in true high definition and 5.1 sound.
