Dish launches music channel Palladia HD

Dish Network has launched music channel Palladia in both standard-def and high-definition (HD) for customers who subscribe to the America’s Top 200 service package or higher level package. Subscribers to the Top 200 will now get Palladia instead of Fuse. Full Story

Green Day Live at the Fox Theatre broadcast in HD

HDNet will present “Green Day Live at the Fox Theatre” this Sunday, May 30 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. A premiere for the network, the concert is in support of their album “21st Century Breakdown,” which won the Grammy for Best Rock Album this year. Full Story

U2’s Rosebowl concert to release on Blu-ray

This news came as a pleasant surprise as I was one of the 100,000 attending the concert in the fall of ‘09 and didn’t realize it was being filmed for Blu-ray release. “U2360 At The Rose Bowl” was U2’s biggest show yet in the States, selling out the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA in support of the group’s No Line on The Horizon album. HDNet to host Frans Ferdinand concert in HD

Smashing Pumpkins debut on HDNet’s Concert Series

The Smashing Pumpkins will debut on HDNet’s Concert Series this Sunday, Nov. 1 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The concert, “Smashing Pumpkins–The Fillmore Residency,” features seven new tracks as well as older hits like “Blue Skies Bring Tears,” “Super Christ,” “Starla,” “No Surrender,” “The Rose March,” and “Zeitgeist.” Full Story

Interactive network ‘Havoc’ added to DirecTV

Havoc network is now available in HD on DirecTV’s channel 101. The network airs an interactive jukebox which viewers can interact with by texting messages that appear on screen. Havoc’s programming currently consists of videos focused on indie music and action sports. Full Story
