PBS gets full-time Nielsen TV ratings

The New York Times reported that PBS, as of today, will start receiving full-time television ratings from the Nielsen Company (they previously received monthly reports). The Times says PBS (Public Broadcasting System) has made the move in order to offer shorter sponsorship periods and provide more viewer data to those sponsors. Full Story



HDNet’s ‘Dan Rather Reports’ will bring further investigation into how Iran has used U.S. banks to launder money. The program will premiere tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET in high-definition on HDNet. Could Iran’s nuclear program be funded through New York banks? 






SundayArts, a weekly program that captures the New York arts scene, will launch next Sunday, March 23rd, on Thirteen/WNET. The program will be simulcast in standard definition on Thirteen and in high definition on Thirteen HD.
HGTV and Food Network, owned by Scripps Networks, will begin to simulcast standard-definition and high-definition broadcasts beginning March 31, 2008. The HD channels, HGTV-HD and Food Network-HD, have carried some programming since launching in 2006.
HD Theater and Mecum Auction Company announced today “MECUM AUTO AUCTION: MUSCLE CARS AND MORE” which will be the first live weekly auto auction in high definition. Mecum Auction Company specializes in high-end muscle, timeless classics and rare exotic cars.
