Microsoft will not pursue developing a Blu-ray player (whether add-on or internal) for its popular high definition gaming console, the Xbox 360. Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360 told Reuters, “Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience.”

The latest from DC comics and Warner Bros. Entertainment is now available on DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc and available for download on Xbox LIVE and On Demand. The feature animation stars Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman as they team up to save the world during the Cold War. DC Comics President and Publisher Paul Levitz calls the film “one of the beautiful pieces of animation.”

With an Xbox 360 you can now download MGM movies in HD, as well as standard definition movies, through Xbox LIVE. Microsoft’s popular gaming console is the first of its kind to offer this feature. The deal between MGM and Microsoft was announced at CES ‘08, with a goal of 50 movies to become available for download.
