DirecTV to offer exclusive footage from The Twilight Saga: New Moon

DirecTV will offer a special midnight premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon for pay-per-view on Mar. 20, which includes behind-the-scenes bonus footage not available from cable networks. Bonus featurettes include “The Subtle Details” (behind-the-scenes look at New Moon’s production design), and “Chris Weitz Takes the Helm” (a look at the transition from ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke and ‘New Moon’ director Chris Weitz). Sony announced today the addition of HD content from the major studios to their Playstation Network video-on-demand service. 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. are the six major studios to provide titles for rent or own through the Playstation Network. 
If you missed any past episodes of “24″ during the last seven seasons, Comcast has just added them all to their On Demand library. The episodes are offered in high-definition and will be available through April 7, 2010. You can find them via the On Demand menu under “TV Entertainment” > “Fox” > “24.” (Just make sure you pick the HD versions.)
Comcast added ESPN content to their On Demand menu this week, with plans to include programming from the Winter X Games, college sports, classic boxing and the upcoming FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Also included will be ESPN’s 30 for 30 sports documentary series, which highlights sports history from 1979 to 2009.
Cox Communications now offers subscribers NBC programming On Demand, which can be found in the MyPrimetime video-on-demand library. TV shows such as Heroes, The Office, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Mercy, Community, and Saturday Night Live are now available to subscribers the day after they premiere on NBC.
The Boston Herald reports Comcast is adding Celtics content to its video-on-demand (VOD) library which currently includes Red Sox and Bruins content. Celtics programming will include player features, a documentary, press footage and the Celtic’s cheerleaders. 

DirecTV has added content from Mark Cuban owned networks HDNet and HDNet Movies. Over 20 hours from HDNet, and 25 movies from HDNet Movies are now part of the DirecTV video-on-demand library.
Verizon’s FiOS TV has substantially added to its VOD count, reaching 18,000 titles per month including 2,400 in HD. Fueling the competition, the company says it has doubled the amount of titles competing cable companies offer.
Verizon’s FiOS TV service has added exclusive New England Patriots programming to its on-demand library. The programming will be available exclusively to its customers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island (FiOS is not offered in other New England states).
