Sky TV launches HD service

New Yealand announced yesterday their first HD channel offerings. Branded My Sky HDi, the new service will launch with Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Movies and Sky Movies Greats. The television service provider will also be providing 2010 & 2012 Olympics coverage. Full Story »

Sky adds two HD channels to lineup

sky digitalSky Digital satellite network out of the UK has added Sky Movies Premiere HD and Sky Sports HD 3 to their HD channels. This gives Sky HD customers up to 16 channels to choose from. Pocket-Lint reports however that the proposed FX HD channel has yet be verified.

Caine classics to go HD

sky logoFilms starring actor Sir Michael Caine will be of the first British classics to be digitally restored in high definition, this according to UK pub The Guardian. Caine will be honored this month for his 75th birthday with screenings of “Zulu” and “The Italian Job”. Viewers with SKY HD will be able to view the films.

SKY UK adds 3 HD channels

sky uk logoSky satellite network of the UK is planning to add Sky Sports HD 3, Sky Movies Premiere HD and FX HD througout March and April. Apparently the channels will not be 24-hours, running at start from 7pm to 2am. Some planned programming includes the European Tour golf tour and an HD screening of Titanic. Full Story »
