Apple customer gets iPhone 4 early

Here’s a video from an Apple customer who says they got their iPhone 4 two days early. UPS mistake? Delivered to early to be activated anyway? Well apparently Apple has already activated their servers and the new iPhone is ready to rock in anticipation of the actual release on June 24. Best Buy to take in-store video game trade-ins

Late this summer, gamers will be able to bring their previously owned games into Best Buy stores and trade them immediately for gift cards. Currently, Best Buy only takes in-store trade-ins on iPods, Apple and PC laptops, and mobile phones. They do, however, already take video game trade-ins by mail. Full Story

Best Buy to take on iTunes and Amazon VOD

Big box retailer Best Buy doesn’t plan on watching Apple and Amazon dominate the online movie sales business, or sit back waiting for Walmart’s Vudu service to take off. The company will begin selling movies via internet this month through CinemaNow, an online distribution service acquired by Sonic Solutions in 2008.

Best Buy dips into digital content delivery

Times this morning reports that Best Buy will be going the pure digital route, and offer content direct to the consumer with possible music and video-on-demand services.  As the market for DVD’s continues to shrink, it seems the new Blu-ray format doesn’t even seem to be getting a fighting chance amid consumer interest in getting content via broadband rather than through physical discs.  Full Story

Best Buy pushing Netflix enabled BD players

Sony & Best Buy partner on ALTUS wireless audio products

Best Buy discounts 20GB Xbox 360, offers HD bundle

Starting today Best Buy is discounting the 20GB Xbox 360. The console is now on sale for $299, $50 less than it’s previous retail price of $349. The big box retailer is also offering a high-definition gaming bundle for $749 which saves you $200. Full Story

Walmart PS3 w/gift card sold out online – no Best Buy match

The current offer from Walmart that includes a $100 gift card with the purchase of a 40GB Playstation 3 has been sold out online. The gift card offer is still available in-store where the PS3 model is in stock. But rumors of Best Buy offering the same deal in stores seem to be just that, rumors. Full Story
