Brighthouse to offer 100 HD channels

Brighthouse announced it plans to reach 100 HD channels next month. The cable provider will add 17 hi-def channels to its current 67 channel lineup this Thursday, and another 24 on Dec. 17.
The channels will be broadcast using
Brighthouse set the goal of reaching 100 high-definition channels back in Dec. ‘08, when they only had 37 HD channels. Most of the channels being added Thursday will be at no extra charge, and include MSNBC HD, BBC America HD and Cartoon Network HD.
New channels to be added on Thursday include:
HBO West HD, channel 1240
HBO Latino HD, channel 1244
HBO Comedy HD, channel 1245
HBO Zone HD, channel 1246
HBO Family HD, channel 1247
HBO 2 HD, channel 1249
HBO Signature HD, channel 1250
MoreMax HD, channel 1252
Action Max HD, channel 1253
Showtime West HD, channel 1265
Showtime Too West HD, channel 1266
TMC extra HD, channel 1272
The Movie Channel West HD, channel 1273
TMC extra west HD, channel 1274
Independent Film channel HD, channel 1286 (available as part of the Movie Pack service)
Turner Classic Movies HD, channel 1314
WE HD, channel 1317
Outdoor Channel HD, channel 1321
Disney Channel XD, channel 1338
Investigation Discovery HD, channel 1352
Fox Business Network HD, channel 1354
Planet Green HD, channel 1362
Style HD, channel 1363
TV One HD, channel 1379
Bright House Networks is a cable television providing services to cities including Central Florida (Orlando / Daytona Beach areas), Tampa Bay area, Indianapolis, Lakeland, Birmingham-Hoover area, west suburban Detroit and Bakersfield.

Bright House launches 14 HD channels in Central Florida

Bright House Networks has launched 14 additional high-definition channels, as well as 6 new digital channels in Central Florida. The company says it hopes to reach 100 HD channels by the end of the year. Full Story

Bright House to add 15 HD channels in Orlando

Good news for Orlando residents as Bright House Networks will add 15 HD channels to its digital-cable customers on Sept. 5. The news comes from the Orlando Sentinel who reported the cable company will reach a total of 64 high-definition channels, closer to their goal of 100 by year’s end. Full Story

Fearnet dropped from Time Warner & Bright House

Fearnet has been dropped by both Time Warner Cable and Bright House, that according to an article from Home Media Magazine. The horror film-based VOD channel has featured films such as Wishmaster, The Evil Dead, Halloween, Friday the 13th and Saw on its free VOD service. Full Story

Bright House adds prime-time VOD

Cable TV provider Bright House announced it added prime-time shows to its VOD library, all of which can be accessed free-of-charge the day after they originally air. Primetime On Demand shows are available in all markets, however only some of them are offered in HD. You can check the HD Showcase channel if you subscribe to the HD package to see which titles are available in high-definition. Full Story

Bright House adds 4 HD channels

Bright House Networks will add four new HD channels to its lineup later this month. The new high definition channels include Sci-Fi HD, Travel HD, USA HD and FX HD. These channels are part of the basic digital cable package and will come at no additional charge. Full Story
