Via Reuters Cox Communications may be close to reaching an agreement to carry movie channels Epix and Epix HD, but Cox is not the only TV provider who may get the new network. Late last Friday Dish Network announced it added seven new HD channels to its lineup. The new channels, which are available nationwide to subscribers, come from MTV Networks and BET Networks. Many Dish customers may be upset to realize the satellite network dropped Smithsonian HD in order to add Crime & Investigation Network in HD. This is according to an article from Multichannel News that describes the former Smithsonian channel as now just a blank screen. Full Story
According to WJAC of Johnstown, PA, Dish Network will not carry their broadcast of the upcoming Superbowl in HD. Dish Network says they are ready to carry the station’s standard-definition broadcast of the game, but not the high-definition broadcast. Full Story
