Sony and HBO have agreed upon distribution of HBO original TV programming through Playstation 3 and PSP portable devices — the only caveat being you’ll have to wait 11-months for the HBO content to become available. HBO Go (hbogo.com), a new online service providing movies and TV shows at no additional charge to HBO subscribers, launched exclusively for Verizon FiOS TV customers. The streaming MPEG-4 video format (delivered via Flash media) will stream at either 1.2 Mbps or 2.6 Mbps depending on your connection speed. Full Story
A new miniseries coming to HBO from the producers of “Band of Brothers.”
Executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, who brought the Band of Brothers miniseries, will be premiering The Pacific miniseries March 14 on HBO. Along with HBO, Comcast is giving its subscribers exclusive On Demand content including a scene from The Pacific, interviews with the producers, and sneak peaks into the making of the series. Comcast is also loading up a Band of Brothers episode every week as a primer for the premiere. Full Story
