DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket goes online for non-subs

Not a DirecTV subscriber? No matter. This season you’ll be able to purchase the NFL Sunday Ticket purely for online viewing. But, according to USA Today, the service is geared towards would-be DirecTV customers who cannot get satellite service. The article goes on to say that potential customers will have to prove they are unable to get DirecTV in order to purchase the $350 NFL Sunday Ticket online package (for example if they don’t have a clear south-facing view to place the satellite.) The Girls Gone Wild “Hottest Girl in America” finale will premiere on Thursday, July 29 in high-definition on HDNet at 10:00 p.m. PT and 1:00 a.m. ET. The show, which premiered May 13, has narrowed down competitors from around the country and one of them will be given the title. 20 finalists have been chosen from 11 states including California, New Mexico, Florida and Louisana. 


You may have come across FEARnet searching through your TV provider’s video-on-demand library. The horror/thriller/suspense network also provides content online and through its mobile platform. In October, FEARnet will launch as a linear channel, offering movies from the horror film genre in high-definition on Comcast, FiOS, Cox and other providers.
Comcast has added Telefutura HD and Univision HD to their high-definition channel lineup in Washington D.C. markets. The additions arrive in anticipation of the upcoming FIFA World Cup matches from South Africa. Comcast will broadcast all 64 matches of the tournament (



This Saturday, May 22, Spike TV will celebrate 30 years since the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back by airing a three-movie marathon starting at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time with Episode IV A New Hope. If you haven’t caught the original Star Wars films in widescreen HD yet, this is a great time to see them all in sequence.
