Girls Gone Wild ‘Hottest Girl’ finale on HDNet

The Girls Gone Wild “Hottest Girl in America” finale will premiere on Thursday, July 29 in high-definition on HDNet at 10:00 p.m. PT and 1:00 a.m. ET. The show, which premiered May 13, has narrowed down competitors from around the country and one of them will be given the title. 20 finalists have been chosen from 11 states including California, New Mexico, Florida and Louisana. Batman film marathon on HDNet

HDNet is running a mini marathon of Batman films starting today at 5:00 PM. If you’re a big fan of Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Batman you can catch up with how The Dark Knight looked 90’s style (pre Batman and Robin) in Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992) and Batman Forever (1995). Of course the movies are presented in high-definition and widescreen format (everything on HDNet is) making this is a great way to relive the movies in their native format. Full Story

Shuttle Mission STS-130 set for early Sunday launch: Update

HDNet will start covering the lift off at 4:00 a.m., with a re-broadcast the launch on Sunday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. ET. This is the last scheduled night time launch for the Space Shuttle Mission. DirecTV adds HDNet content to on-demand library

HD broadcast review: ‘Escape from Alcatraz’

Kill the lights on this one. This film is dark, dark, dark. I must have seen “Escape from Alcatraz” a hundred times over the years in standard-definition, and each time it seemed the quality got progressively worse. But it is just one of those films that I can’t turn off, even with commercial interruptions. Full Story

David Lynch’s ‘Surveillance’ premieres next Weds. in HD
