Time Warner Cable adds 25 HD channels in NYC

NYC area Time Warner Cable subscribers will have 25 more HD channels to choose from. The additions bring TMC’s high-definition channel count to over 150 in New York City, Mount Vernon, Hudson Valley and New Jersey markets. Full Story

Comcast to add over 70 HD channels in Denver

Comcast will add over 70 new HD channels to its Denver markets under the brand “Xfinity,” that according to The Denver Post. Some Comcast subscribers in metropolitan Denver, Colorado Springs and Loveland areas have already started getting the high-def upgrades today. According to Comcast representative Cindy Parsons, most of metro Denver should have the channels by the end of this summer. Full Story

New HD titles streaming from Netflix

Several new titles now available to stream to your HDTV include Ken Burns’ The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, Prison Break: Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Roman Polanski’s three-time Oscar winning film The Pianist (2002). Dish Network reaches 200 HD channels, really?

Who said the HD channel war was over anyway? Dish announced today it now offers 200 national HD channels, which include the addition of EPIX HD, G4 HD, and Turner Classic Movies HD. But good luck finding an actual list of those added 40 HD channels (Dish previously boasted 160 HD channels) — you’ll just find the eight listed in Dish’s press release. Full Story

They’ve done it before, the folks at Pixar… turning a rat loose in a French restaurant to prove that anyone with gumption (and a little talent) can cook and impress a cranky food critic; allowing us to follow the near-silent escapades of two robots amidst their blossoming romance and the dawning of hope in a once decrepit and apocalyptic setting. Now, perhaps more difficult, they’ve outdone themselves by giving a broken-hearted old curmudgeon one last shot to find the spirit of adventure for both himself and a can-do, but lonely, boy scout. CBS reality show Survivor will premiere in high-definition (HD) this season with Survivor: Gabon – Earth’s Last Eden. Scheduled to air Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8:00 PM, fans are able to get a sneak preview of the reality show, as CNET is offering a 3-1/2 minute preview online using their new HD-Video player. Charter customers in St. Louis to get 8 new HD channels
