3 more channels added to FiOS TV online

Verizon’s FiOS TV online service is adding three more channels from Time Warner Inc., including Adult Swim, Cartoon Network and truTV. Content from these channels will be available online within 24-hours after the shows premiere on television. The channels join Turner’s TNT and TBS which became available to FiOS TV subscribers in June. Full Story

Verizon customers to get The Closer, Lopez Tonight online in HD

FiOS TV subscribers will be able to get Time Warner’s Turner networks programming on their PCs in June, and in the near future on their mobile devices. Shows such as “The Closer,” “Southland,” “Leverage,” Lopez Tonight” will be available 24 hours after they premiere on broadcast television — a time-delay common for prime-time content offered on demand. Netflix streaming more titles to Macs and PCs in HD

Netflix is apparently streaming more than half of all “Play-ready” HD titles to Macs and PCs, that according to a Netflix representative who spoke with HackingNetflix. But finding that “half” of HD titles available to stream in high-definition isn’t exactly easy. Full Story

HD/Video-On-Demand Investment Shows Growth

The future for video-on-demand looks particularly bright this week.  A recent study published by Infonetics Research has shown that spending for video-on-demand and content servers as well as other VOD infrastructure components and devices by cable and IPTV service providers to be steady at $625 million in 4Q09, though overall video infrastructure spending was down for 2009 due to the recession in North America and Europe.  Full Story

Look out Netflix, Walmart is getting Vudu

vudu-logo-on-blackRetail giant Wal-Mart will now enter the internet movie delivery world currently dominated by Netflix, by purchasing Santa Clara, CA based Vudu within the next couple weeks. With the acquisition, Wal-Mart will now be in direct competition with Netflix who offers movies by mail, internet on PCs, and streaming to your HDTV. Full Story

World Fishing Network launched in hi-def on U-verse TV

AT&T expands IPTV service to Jackson, MS

U-verse launched in Louisville and Spartanburg

Memphis gets AT&T U-verse

SureWest to rollout IPTV using Microsoft Mediaroom
