Look out Netflix, Walmart is getting Vudu

vudu-logo-on-blackRetail giant Wal-Mart will now enter the internet movie delivery world currently dominated by Netflix, by purchasing Santa Clara, CA based Vudu within the next couple weeks. With the acquisition, Wal-Mart will now be in direct competition with Netflix who offers movies by mail, internet on PCs, and streaming to your HDTV. Full Story

World Fishing Network launched in hi-def on U-verse TV

AT&T expands IPTV service to Jackson, MS

AT&T has expanded its IPTV-based U-verse service to parts of Jackson, Mississippi. The television/voice/internet package offers at least 110 high-definition (HD) channels as well as remote DVR control from a cell phone or PC. Full Story

U-verse launched in Louisville and Spartanburg

Memphis gets AT&T U-verse

SureWest to rollout IPTV using Microsoft Mediaroom

SureWest Communications says it will use Microsoft’s Mediaroom IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) software platform to deliver TV service. The area will include SureWest’s Sacramento, California market where the company has an existing fiber-optic and copper line network. Full Story
