Comcast adding 58 HD channels in Fresno & Central CA areas

Comcast will be adding 58 HD channels later this week in parts of Central California including Fresno, Los Banos, Merced, Tulare and Visalia (see full list of areas below). The additional channels (totalling 75 if you count standard-def channels ) will be added as part of Comcast’s XFINITY TV upgrade. New HD channels soon to be available include BET HD, MGM HD, MSNBC HD, Nickelodeon HD, Disney XD HD and E! HD. Full Story

MGM HD to launch on U-verse

MGM has struck a deal with AT&T’s fiber-optic U-verse service to carry the MGM HD channel. The channel will also be distributed on cable systems that were carrying the Mojo HD channel which will end next month, that according to Multichannel News. Full Story

Comcast gets new high-definition channel ‘MGM HD’

MGM HD will soon be available to Comcast cable customers, as both companies signed a broadcast distribution agreement. MGM has a library of thousands of classic and contemporary films which will be broadcast in 1080i on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s first fully owned cable channel in the United States. Full Story

MGM HD now available for Time Warner customers

MGM HD, a channel which runs films from the MGM library in high-definition, will now be available to Time Warner Cable customers. This is according to an announcement made today by Douglas A. Lee, Executive VP of Worldwide Digital Media, MGM. “This is a great opportunity for us to make MGM HD available to more consumers across the country,” he said. Full Story

MGM secures HD channel with Verizon FiOS

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) has secured carriage for its MGM HD Channel on Verizon’s FiOS TV service, bringing feature film hits from the MGM library to Verizon FiOS TV subscriber households in full high definition splendor. The announcement was made today by Douglas A. Lee, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Media for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Jim Packer, Co-President, MGM Worldwide Television.
