TV Everywhere Leaves VOD Nowhere
on May 18, 2010With Comcast and Time-Warner now moving forward with video paywalls, are the cable companies doing what Hollywood and the music industry couldn’t do? Profit from the Internet… by forcing viewers to keep their cable subscriptions? That reality is coming sooner than you think.

If you’re a baseball fan and DirecTV subscriber you may already be smiling about this news, and plotting a way to get yourself a new HDTV — one that is 3D ready. DirecTV will broadcast two Yankees vs. Mariners games in 3D this July, which marks a first for the MLB and the satellite TV provider. The Yankees vs. the Seattle Mariners games (July 10 and July 11) will be broadcast via a partnership between DirecTV, Yes Network (who owns the Yankees distribution rights), and FSN Northwest.

Here’s a list of tonight’s HDTV programs from the major networks. All times are listed in Eastern. Don’t miss game #5 of the MLB American League Championship Angels vs. Yankees starting at 7:30PM ET on FOX.
