Verizon will broadcast Yankees-Mariners in 3D

Following DirecTV’s lead in broadcasting MLB’s first live 3D broadcasts, Verizon has announced they too will telecast YES Network’s Yankees vs. Mariners games on July 10 and 11. If you are a FiOS TV customer with HD service (and 3D TV with 3D glasses) and live in the New York Metro area you may be part of the covered area. Full Story

Yankees and Mariners fans – get ready for baseball in 3D

If you’re a baseball fan and DirecTV subscriber you may already be smiling about this news, and plotting a way to get yourself a new HDTV — one that is 3D ready. DirecTV will broadcast two Yankees vs. Mariners games in 3D this July, which marks a first for the MLB and the satellite TV provider. The Yankees vs. the Seattle Mariners games (July 10 and July 11) will be broadcast via a partnership between DirecTV, Yes Network (who owns the Yankees distribution rights), and FSN Northwest. Now you can watch live MLB on your PS3

Just announced today, Sony’s Playstation 3 is the first gaming console to offer live streaming MLB games in high-definition. MLB.TV subscribers can watch every regular Major League Baseball game through their PS3 — directly to an HDTV — at no extra charge with an MLB.TV subscription.  Full Story

MLB.TV For PS3. One Word Review: Wow!

As an addendum to our earlier HD Report article on MLB.TV for PS3… let’s get in a quick review of this thing (watching Red Sox v. Texas on the NESN feed right now).

First off… no disc is required.   This is a PS3 download (requiring a software update via the PS3’s broadband), and requires you to have a valid MLB.TV subscription (either one will do).  The download takes up 16mb of space, and installs quickly.  From there you enter your MLB.TV login info and off you go!  Full Story

Yankees 2009 World Series headed for DVD & Blu-ray
