Dish On Demand HD offers .99 cent specials

Dish Network is still offering Alice in Wonderland, Green Zone, Hot Tub Time Machine and She’s Out of My League for .99 cents from July 1 through July 7 on their DISH Cinema pay-per-view service. The movies are available in both standard and high-definition at 1080p resolution and can be purchased on channel 501 or through the DISH On Demand menu on your DVR. Full Story

DirecTV completes 3D channel lineup

DirecTV has completed their promised launch of three dedicated 3D television channels which includes n3D, a linear channel powered by Panasonic featuring the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 race in 3D, DIRECTV Cinema which is offering IMAX titles Deep Sea 3D and Under the Sea 3D, and the previously launched EPSN 3D now covering the FIFA World Cup. New HD titles streaming from Netflix

Several new titles now available to stream to your HDTV include Ken Burns’ The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, Prison Break: Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Roman Polanski’s three-time Oscar winning film The Pianist (2002). Verizon customers to get The Closer, Lopez Tonight online in HD

FiOS TV subscribers will be able to get Time Warner’s Turner networks programming on their PCs in June, and in the near future on their mobile devices. Shows such as “The Closer,” “Southland,” “Leverage,” Lopez Tonight” will be available 24 hours after they premiere on broadcast television — a time-delay common for prime-time content offered on demand. Comcast expanding their on-demand library

Comcast rolled out 9,000 more on-demand movie choices this week in their Xfinity markets in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, increasing their VOD library by 450-percent. 3,000 of Comcast’s now 25,000 on-demand title library are available in HD. Full Story

Comcast offers Showtime freeviews On Demand

From Mar. 25 through Mar. 28 Comcast is offering a freeview of Showtime programming On Demand including United States of Tara, Nurse Jackie and The Tudors. Sports content includes Inside NASCAR, Championship Boxing and Strikeforce MMA. Twilight is also part of the Showtime freeview, which offers all TV shows and movies in HD. Full Story

Blockbuster renews Warner deal, On Demand added to Samsung products

Blockbuster has renewed a previous agreement with Warner Bros. to offer new titles immediately for rental by mail or in-store. Movies include today’s release of The Blind Side and next Tuesday’s (Mar. 30) release of Sherlock Holmes. The renewal continues a 25-year relationship between the two companies. DirecTV to offer exclusive footage from The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Bonus featurettes include “The Subtle Details” (behind-the-scenes look at New Moon’s production design), and “Chris Weitz Takes the Helm” (a look at the transition from ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke and ‘New Moon’ director Chris Weitz). Comcast adds ESPN content On Demand

Comcast adds exclusive HD content from ‘The Pacific’

Executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, who brought the Band of Brothers miniseries, will be premiering The Pacific miniseries March 14 on HBO. Along with HBO, Comcast is giving its subscribers exclusive On Demand content including a scene from The Pacific, interviews with the producers, and sneak peaks into the making of the series. Comcast is also loading up a Band of Brothers episode every week as a primer for the premiere. Full Story

Cox adds NBC programming in HD On Demand
