Panasonic’s new consumer 3D camcorder

by Jeff Chabot on July 28, 2010

I love the looks of this new camera from Panasonic. It’s a consumer level camcorder that records in full HD 1080p but when a 3D conversion lens is used records left and right eye images simultaneously at 960 x 1080 pixels each. The HDC-SDT750 uses Panasonic’s pro broadcast technology developed through Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory and makes 3D image creation affordable. Full Story

Panasonic Viera 3D commercial shows Avatar in 3D

by Jeff Chabot on May 10, 2010

A new Panasonic commercial shows Avatar in 3D (screen images simulated) before the 3D versions of the Blu-ray Disc or digital versions are even available. Does anyone find this to be wrong? However, the company is offering a $25 rebate on the non-3D version of Avatar when you buy select Panasonic equipment until July 10, 2010. The Viera VT series 3D plasma HDTVs feature 600 Hz sub-field drive and Infinite Black Panel Pro technology. Panasonic starting shipping the VT25 P50 and P54 models early last week. Panasonic sells out first batch of 3D HDTVs

by Jeff Chabot on March 20, 2010

On Mar. 10 Panasonic put a 50-inch plasma 3D HDTV package on shelves in New York City that included a 3-D Blu-ray player and one pair of RealD shutter glasses. The Panasonic model TC-P50VT20, sold exclusively at Best Buy, sold out within a week. Apparently the big $2,900 sticker (extra glasses $150 bucks each) didn’t stop early adopters from being the first to own the TVs, and those in New York will be set up to watch the first hockey game in 3D on Mar. 24. Panasonic hasn’t revealed exactly how many 3D units have sold, but they are currently taking back-orders from retailers.
