TMC won’t say free HD anymore

dont-be-ed-330x186Time Warner Cable will no longer market their HD services as “free” according to a company statement which followed a Better Business Bureaus recommendation. Multichannel reported yesterday The National Advertising Division found TMC had been using the term “free” for about two years when the price of HD service had actually become embedded in the price of its regular service. Therefore, it shouldn’t be called free. Full Story

AT&T brings U-verse to Chicago Metro

U-verse TV which provides access to 100 HD channels is now available to residents in the Chicago metropolitan area. The IPTV based service from AT&T is now available to over one million residents in parts of Joliet, Waukegan, Mundelein, St. Charles and Crystal Lake. Full Story

AT&T U-verse hits 100 HD channels

AT&T announced it has hit the 100 HD channel mark, or exceeded it, in all markets where its U-verse TV service is available. New additions to the high-definition listings include ABC Family HD, Disney Channel HD, Disney XD HD, ESPNews HD and ESPNU HD. Full Story

AT&T expands U-verse in So Cal

att u-verseAT&T is expanding its U-verse TV service to areas in Southern California, that according to an article in the Ventura County Star. In Thousand Oaks, Culver City, and San Bernardino, the fiber-optic/copper based IPTV service will offer residents 85 high-definition (HD) channels, along with a TV/Voice/Internet bundle. I know So-Cal residents have been waiting for this. Here’s hoping it reaches your neighborhood.

AT&T U-verse to get 7 new HD channels

at&tAT&T recently made an agreement with Viacom to broadcast seven new high-definition (HD) channels on its IPTV based U-verse service. The agreement includes MTV HD, VH1 HD, CMT HD, BET HD, Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD and Spike HD all of which will be added later this year. Full Story

AT&T expands U-verse service

AT&T has expanded its U-verse service to several areas this week. Among the new service areas are parts of Jackson, MI, El Paso, TX, and Topeka, KS. The U-verse TV service typically offers 85 HD channels at an extra $10 a month and provides an all-in-one television/internet/voice package over its fiber-optic based network. Full Story

AT&T launches U-verse in Birmingham

U-verse added to 4 cities in Orange County

AT&T’s U-verse fiber-optic service is now available in four more Orange County, California cities, that according to an article in the OCRegister. The newly added cities include Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest and Newport Beach. U-verse to bring more HD to Alabama

Last Friday AT&T announced it would spend approximately $400 million to upgrade its networks to provide the fiber-optic based U-verse service across Alabama. AT&T U-verse nears 550k customers

AT&T reached 549,000 customers who use the IPTV based U-verse service. For the quarter ending June 30, AT&T posted a gain of 170,000 customers using the service. The company currently serves 11 million residents in 53 markets, offering all-digital standard-definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) channels to its customers. Full Story
