Verizon has added 53 new HD channels to its FiOS TV service in the Washington metropolitan area. Some of those new high-def channels include Animal Planet, TLC, Science Channel and Smithsonian Channel. The service now provides 105 HD channels in the area and over 700 HD VOD choices. Full Story »

Disney-ABC and Verizon strike HD VOD deal

ABC logoDisney-ABC Television Group and Verizon have agreed to offer ABC content through Verizon’s FiOS TV HD VOD (Video-On-Demand) library. Verizon offers 102 HD channels in California

Verizon is now offering 102 HD channels in California with the launch of 66 high-definition channels yesterday. With FiOS TV service, customers will have the option of over 800 HD titles if you include the 700 HD titles on-demand. Verizon has added 53 new HD channels, and 15 new standard-definition channels to its FiOS TV service in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. Florida customers get more FiOS HD channels

Fiber-optic television provider Verizon, who recently announced its Extreme HD package, has added 57 HD channels in Texas. The high-definition channels are among 77 new channels added to the FiOS TV lineup. Verizon customers in the area now have access to 87 HD channels. Full Story »

Verizon is offering a new HD package that is $10 more than the previous HD package, but offers more than two dozen new HD channels. The new plan, called Extreme HD, is offered at $57.99 in most areas. It will replace the $47.99 Premiere package, which will no longer be offered where the Extreme package is available. Full Story »

Verizon’s FiOS TV is now available to 80,000 households in Washington State, including 98 HD (High Definition) channels. The fiber-topic television service is now available in parts of Bothell, Brier, Everett, Edmonds, Kenmore, Lynnwood, Woodinville, Woodway and Snohomish counties. “This is liberation day for cable TV subscribers in Washington,” said David S.
