According to The Associated Press Sony is now developing 3D television technology that does not require wearing 3D glasses. The news comes just days after former high-def disc rival Toshiba announced it was working on no-glasses 3D technology.

Toshiba’s new Dynabook TX/98MBL laptop will push separate 60Hz frames to each eye (120Hz total), enabling what could be the first consumer 3D laptop utilizing active shutter 3D technology. Former Blu-ray rival Toshiba has officially announced availability of two reasonably priced Blu-ray Disc players. The BDX2500 ($179.99) and BDX2700 ($249.99) include Wi-Fi, 7.1 channel audio, 24 frames-per-second, and compatibility with Netflix and Blockbuster On Demand.
