by Jeb Stuart on October 21, 2008

Just in time to get your appetite wet for the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace hitting U.S. theaters on November 14, the Blu-ray two-disc collectors edition of Casino Royale has hit the streets. The Casino Royale Collectors Edition on 2-disc Blu-ray and 3-disc DVD comes with never-before-seen features and documentaries.

These latest releases pack over seven hours of special features, way beyond the 90 minutes of the last release. Five new features include “The Road to Casino Royale,” “Ian Fleming’s Incredible Creation,” “Bond in the Bahamas,” “Ian Fleming: The Secret Road to Paradise”, and “Death in Venice.” Features from the previous released discs are repeated here: “Becoming Bond,” “James Bond for Real,” and unfortunately the same eight minutes of deleted scenes we’ve seen before.

There is also added audio commentary from producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, as well as from crew members.

The Blu-ray disc version of Casino Royale Collectors Edition has a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.40:1. It is formatted in MPEG-4 AVC at 1080p and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround Sound (48kHz/24-bit). Blu-ray features include BD-Live, Picture-in-Picture, and “Know Your Double -O:The Ultimate James Bond Trivia Quiz.”

Get Casino Royale Collectors Edition currently priced at $26.95 (regularly $38.98).
