HD gaming news and updates

by Matthew Rudd on March 6, 2009

Here is a quick run-down of some of this week’s news and content updates. After a lull in January and February, things are really starting to pick up in the console world.

- The Prince of Persia expansion pack (DLC) is out now for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and it will only set you back $9.99. The pack includes a new region, a new power, a new attack and new character skins. The main draw of this DLC is that it allows players to continue exploring the Prince’s world after beating the main story mode.

- Burnout: Paradise has a new car pack out now on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The ‘Toy Car’ pack costs either $12.99 for all nine cars, or players can buy individual cars for $1.99 each.

- The ‘Scene’ expansion for Metal Gear Online (PS3) now has a release date. It will be available for download on March 17th for $9.99. Konami also plans to bundle the two previous MGO expansions with the ‘Scene’ expansion for the low price of $17.99. The three expansions offer players new characters, costumes and play modes for their MGO experience.

- PlayStation Home has gone through several updates this week. Players logging in will be prompted to download update 1.11, which adds several new areas and games to the Home experience. There is a new game available in the Plaza and the Warhawk and Resident Evil 5 locations are now open to the public.

Check back soon for more console updates for your favorite HD games.
