Verizon FiOS TV expands in North Texas

by Jeff Chabot on May 27, 2009

Verizon has expanded its FiOS TV and Broadband service to North Texas, reaching over 27,000 residencies. During 2008, Verizon says it had been expanding its fiber-optic network to reach the communities of Allen, Bartonville, Colleyville, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Frisco, Grapevine, Keller, Plano and Watauga.

FiOS offers over 425 channels in North Texas, with 100 of those channels available in HD (High Definition). High speed FiOS Internet service offers downstream speeds of up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps).

Verizon says it will continue to expand its services to more residencies in those communities throughout the rest of the year.
