HBO HD goes on demand with Comcast

by Jeffrey Nukom on July 24, 2009

HBO HD is now offered on-demand to Comcast customers who subscribe to HBO, an industry first for the network. Comcast will be the first cable provider to offer HBO’s large library of movies, original programming, sports events, kid’s programming and documentaries on-demand and in high-definition.

Comcast will provide the HBO content at no extra charge to HBO subscribers. Original programming includes shows like Entourage, The Sopranos and The Wire. Some hit movies in the HBO lineup include The Dark Knight, Eagle Eye and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Comcast said the addition of the HBO content is part of their Project Infinity, aimed at offering a greater amount of programing to its customers. Comcast currently offers over 1,000 on-demand HD choices a month.
