Sony BDP-N460 streams Netflix, YouTube

by Jeff Chabot on September 10, 2009

The Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray player will stream Netflix, YouTube, Slacker and on-demand content from the BRAVIA internet video platform. It appears content from YouTube and Slacker is ready to go, while Netflix integration will be added later this fall.

The BDP-N460 is a full HD 1080/60fps Blu-ray player that supports 24p True Cinema. For upscaling, the player uses Sony’s Precision Cinema HD technology to get those standard-def DVDs looking closer to high-definition.

Supported audio codecs include 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus, DTS -HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio. The BDP-N460 can also output 7.1 channel L-PCM via HDMI after decoding.

The Sony BDP-N460 will ship next month, and retail for approximately $250.
