Yankees 2009 World Series headed for DVD & Blu-ray

The official 2009 New York Yankees: The Official World Series Film is headed for DVD and Blu-ray. The standard-def DVD will be released tomorrow, Nov. 24, while the hi-def Blu-ray Disc will start shipping Dec. 15.

The film will present extended coverage of the Yankee’s 27th World Series title, following the team to their victory in six games over the Phillies. Footage includes highlights from the the American League Championship Series, American League Division Series, World Series, clubhouse celebrations and championship parade.

The feature presentation totals 80 minutes, and bonus material 30 minutes, with all footage shot entirely in high-definition. The Blu-ray Disc is presented in 1080i with PSM 5.1 Surround Sound.

2009 New York Yankees: The Official World Series Film is available for pre-order from Amazon.com, as well as the New York Yankees Clubhouse Shops and Yankees.com. The standard-def disc will retail for $19.99 and the Blu-ray Disc for $29.99.
